From Austin…

Dear CHASA,

I just wanted to take a moment to say “thank you so very much” for awarding me a CHASA college scholarship this year. I truly appreciate your financial support of me in my life goals. This is my fifth and final year of undergraduate education, and I will be graduating this coming May. I look forward to continuing my education next by working on a Master’s Degree in Biology, and as always, being a contributing member of society where ever I go. I hope to some day be a college professor in a Biology department at an undergraduate level college. I greatly appreciate your vote of confidence in my academic abilities, rather than looking at me as someone who is disabled and can never do anything. I cannot tell you how much this means to me!

From Emma…

Thank you so much for considering me as a scholarship finalist. This scholarship will help me realize my dream of getting a degree and going on to law school. CHASA has meant so much to me and my family through the years, especially because of the friendships I have made at the retreats. I can’t express how much I appreciate not only the scholarship opportunity, but also all that CHASA has done for me and kids just like me. I hope to one day be able to use my education to help make life better for others with hemiplegia the way CHASA has made things better for me.

From Joshua…

Thank you so much for everything you do for this amazing scholarship.  I am truly blessed to have received this scholarship for four years.  In receiving this scholarship, I have had the opportunity to study abroad twice in Spain and currently in France.  Additionally, this scholarship will be a stepping stone for me to have my first apartment on campus and will allow me to become even more independent.  I am excited that next semester will be my last before I graduate in the Spring and start my career.  Again, thank you.

From Emily…

I would like to thank you so much for offering me such a great opportunity and choosing me as a recipient. The CHASA Scholarship will make my journey of becoming a nurse less stressful. I personally know that growing up with a disability is very expensive and so when I decided to go to nursing school, my family did not have much money saved up for college. I am glad that there is an organization dedicated for children who have been diagnosed and impacted by hemiplegia and strokes. The opportunity to get an education without being financially worried is truly a blessing. Thank you again.

From Megan…

I would like to extend my sincere gratitude for the opportunity you have awarded me to defray some of the cost of my Master’s degree in this prestigious program. I know that the scholarship will help me focus less on the finances of next semester and more on my coursework, internship search, and research interests. I cannot express how much this will impact my future for the better.

From Natalie…

Thank you so much for awarding me a CHASA scholarship and for all of the work you’ve done to help kids with hemiplegia. I have found so much helpful information through the CHASA website and it really helps to know there is a community of other kids and young adults out there like me with hemiplegia. You have no idea how much it means to be awarded this scholarship. I have three other siblings who are also in college at the same time, so it’s a big financial burden on my parents. This scholarship will definitely help to defray some of the cost of attending college, and help me to achieve my educational goals. I am so grateful.
