Visual EMG Feedback may Impact Mirror Muscle Activity in Children with Hemiplegia (IRB# 20130709CHARJ)
The Children’s Hemiplegia and Stroke Association (CHASA) is assisting researchers in the Physical Therapy Department, University of New England, in recruiting participants for a research pilot study. The purpose of this study is to investigate whether EMG feedback is effective in reducing mirror muscle activity and result in improved motor performance in children with hemiplegic cerebral palsy (CP). Researchers will examine movement coordination in both of the child’s arms.
This research study is seeking children who:
- have a diagnosis of hemiplegic cerebral palsy;
- are between 7 and 9 years old; and
- are available for a 2-hour session

Additional Information about Research Study
Participants will receive $15 for participation. Caregivers will receive $15 for transportation costs.
